[Hebrews 6 QT Meditation]

In a Shaken World, Hold Fast to God’s Unshakable Promise

● Why are we still stuck in the same place?

Many of us, even after years of following Christ, still feel like spiritual infants. We struggle to truly read the Word, our prayers feel dry, and our faith gets tossed around by every breeze of hardship. Despite daily resolutions to change, our inner selves feel hollow, and spiritual progress seems non-existent. We long to grow closer to God, but life’s weight and our own weaknesses knock us down again and again.

Hebrews 6 speaks directly to this struggle: “Let us move beyond the elementary teachings and be taken forward to maturity” (Heb. 6:1). Scripture calls us with urgency: Don’t stay where you are — move toward spiritual maturity. Yet we cry out, “How? How can I move forward when everything around me — and within me — keeps shaking?”

● Faith doesn't grow overnight

Like Abraham, who received God’s promise ​after waiting patiently (Heb. 6:15), we too must persevere to mature in faith.

The world values speed and results, but faith grows the opposite way.

It's planted like a seed, nurtured in silence, and refined in thorns. Hebrews 6 reminds us that God confirmed His promise with an oath. “God cannot lie, and this hope is an anchor for the soul” (Heb. 6:18-19).

God’s promise is not like a human contract. It’s an anchor sworn by His own name — steadfast even in the fiercest storm.

Yet we often live in fear because we do not listen to the Word, do not believe it, and do not live it out. That’s why the anchor feels distant.

● Make hope your anchor

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.” (Heb. 6:19)

What a comforting truth. No matter how hard the winds blow, God’s promise is the anchor that will never let us go. He has never released us, never forsaken us, and He is always by our side.

That hope comes alive in the place of prayer, grows through the Word, and is strengthened through patient endurance. We must start again. Biblical maturity doesn’t mean perfection — it means holding tightly to Christ to the very end. Reorient your life around the Word and prayer, and inherit God’s promises through faith and perseverance.

● Start your restoration now

Dear friend, don’t delay. It’s time to move beyond spiritual infancy. Our hope does not rest on shifting circumstances, but on God’s unchanging and truthful promises.

Do not begin your day without the Word and prayer. Faith doesn’t grow without tears of repentance. Fall before Him now. Like Abraham, wait patiently. Like Joseph, don’t let go of your dream. Like David, praise even in affliction. God’s promises will come to pass.

His promises may feel delayed, but they are never wasted. Let His Word be your anchor today, and your soul will be secure.

● Prayer

Lord, I confess that my faith has remained in its infancy. I have not read Your Word faithfully, I have neglected prayer, and my faith has lacked action. But now, I long to move toward maturity. Teach me to wait and endure like Abraham, and let Your promise become the anchor of my soul. Even if the world shakes, Your Word never changes.

Heavenly Father, use this unworthy servant, GunJubu, to proclaim the gospel. Pour out Your grace upon the missions, mercy work, and HSRI ministries You have entrusted to me. Let Your promises be fulfilled in my life, my family, and my calling.
